Source of Wealth and Source of Funds explained
Nebeus may ask for Source of Wealth or Source of Funds information to understand where money or crypto-assets came from.
The difference between SOW and SOF
| Term | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Source of Funds (SOF) | Where the specific money or crypto used in a transaction came from. | Salary payment used for a bank transfer, sale of crypto from another exchange, or proceeds from selling an asset. |
| Source of Wealth (SOW) | How your overall wealth or financial position was built over time. | Employment income, business ownership, investments, inheritance, property sale, or savings. |
Why Nebeus may ask
These checks help Nebeus comply with anti-money laundering rules and understand higher-value, unusual, or higher-risk activity. A request does not automatically mean there is a problem with your account.
Examples of evidence
- Payslips, employment contract, or tax return for salary income.
- Bank statements showing incoming salary, savings, or transfer history.
- Sale agreement for property, vehicle, business, or investment assets.
- Inheritance documents or gift declaration where relevant.
- Company accounts, invoices, or dividend statements for business income.
- Exchange statements or transaction history showing crypto purchase or sale origin.
- Loan agreement or investment statement where relevant.
How to submit documents
- Upload only documents requested in your account or by Nebeus support.
- Make sure documents are complete, readable, and show your name where relevant.
- Do not edit balances, names, transaction references, or dates.
- If a document contains unrelated sensitive data, ask support before redacting it.
IMPORTANT
Providing false, edited, or incomplete documents may lead to restrictions or account closure.
